The University of Baguio’s School of International Hospitality and Tourism Management (SIHTM) showcased its commitment to quality education by leading the banquet services for this year’s tribute to Dr. Fernando Bautista, UB’s esteemed founder, on March 10, 2025. Following the Eucharistic Celebration, a luncheon was held at the University’s Centennial Hall, where over 230 guests—including family members, faculty, students, and distinguished attendees—gathered to honor Tatay Fernando’s enduring legacy.

More than a tribute, the event served as a training ground for SIHTM students, bridging classroom theories with real-world applications. Under the guidance of their instructors—who are industry practitioners—students meticulously planned, organized, and executed the banquet, ensuring that every detail met hospitality industry standards. The menu presents a rich selection of Asian cuisine, showcasing SIHTM’s commitment to upholding international culinary standards. From venue setup to service delivery, they applied industry best practices with precision, professionalism, and a focus on guest satisfaction.
Furthermore, this hands-on training not only honed students’ technical skills but also reinforced their confidence and work ethic in preparation for their upcoming practicum, underscoring SIHTM’s mission of training global industry experts.
